Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has today announced that leading retail organizations are increasingly choosing to deploy Darktrace for its innovative approach to cyber defense.

In a rapidly-evolving threat landscape, traditional security measures are proving insufficient for major retail organizations to protect their sensitive customer data and market reputation. As such, major retailers including Chantecler, KEEN Footwear, and Trek Bicycles have all selected Darktrace’s innovative Enterprise Immune System technology, in order to arm themselves with the best technology to defend themselves.

In total, more than thirty leading retailers from around the globe use Darktrace for early threat detection and complete visibility of their networks, in real time. This also includes one of the United States’ top five home design companies, and the second largest department store.

Powered by machine learning and mathematics developed by specialists from the University of Cambridge, the Enterprise Immune System is capable of detecting never-seen-before cyber-threats inside the network, as well as visualizing all network activity, without using rules, signatures, or prior assumptions. These retailers now rely on Darktrace’s immune system technology to learn what is ‘normal’ for their networks and detect abnormal activity before it escalates into a crisis.

With new threats emerging every day, we knew we had to take cyber security seriously,” said Dane Sandersen, CISO, Trek Bicycles. “The retail industry is a constant target for cyber attacks, which is why we selected Darktrace’s innovative technology. The Enterprise Immune System is the only tool we’ve seen that is detecting potential attacks before they cause damage – it’s catching threats that other tools are missing.”
Machine learning is critical as we move towards more automated and fast attacks,” said Clark Flannery, Director of Information Technology, KEEN. “The reality is that you can’t keep everything from getting in the network. Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System helps us visualize what is already inside our network, and mitigates threats, as they emerge.”
The growing number of retailers that are turning to Darktrace’s ‘immune system’ approach indicates again the failure of legacy technologies to tackle today’s fast-moving threats,” commented Nicole Eagan, CEO, Darktrace. “Our machine learning is ideally suited to retailers who run complex and dynamic IT systems, and rely on that agility to stay competitive. As retailers embrace new technologies and optimize their workforce, the immune system grows with them. It updates itself continually, letting customers stay one step ahead of threats.”
